Big Girl Bed

Today at nap time was the first time Marley slept in her "big girl bed". She is asleep in it right now also. As much as I hate to say, my little baby is not a baby any more. :( So far it has not been bad at all.

BIG WEEK - VBS, New Cousin & 1/2 Birthday

This past week we have had VBS at our church (SMPC) and it has been GREAT! We were a Jewish village and I got to help out in the Tie Dye tent, where we made crosses on the kid's shirts. In our village we had a petting zoo, black smith, sheep shearing, fresh market, beggars, kite making, leather making, candle making, gardening, and the list goes on. It was absolutely fantastic and me and Ty had a great time, Marley had as much fun as she can have. :) We are already looking forward to it next year. To see all of this week's pics click on the June album.

Sean and Andi had gone to Ethiopia to pick up their 3rd child Will and a lot of us met them at the Knoxville airport yesterday afternoon to welcome them back. Will is absolutley beautiful and we are so happy that he is part of our family now. We look forward to seeing him real soon!
Last night we had a small get together at our house to celebrate 1/2 birthdays (Ty is 3.5 and Marley is 1.5). It was so much fun and thanks to all of our friends for coming and celebrating with us!! Summer birthdays are so much more fun than winter.

3 Little Monkeys

This summer we are doing the summer reading program at our library. This past week the kids made these cool shirts. This week we are going to miss because of VBS. Stay tuned for those pics.
We've also been swimming at the Signal Mtn Pool this summer and it's been great! Here are the kids, looking "special" in their swim diapers and goggles.

Saturday morning we met our friends Tessa, Lula, Amy & Connor at the Creative Discovery Museum to eat breakfast with Curious George. It was a lot of fun! The exhibit will be there all summer, so if anyone wants to go just let me know. Also to see more pics, click on the June album.

Last night our neighbors, Laura & Kimbrough had us over for dinner and here is an after dinner ice cream cone. Thanks for a delicious dinnner!!

The Masters, Bob the Builder, & LC

Last Friday night our friends the Masters came up and spent the night with us. It was so nice to see them and their girls. The kids enjoyed playing (here they are watch themselves dance on TV), well at least part of the time. Ty was going thru a rough patch and spent a lot of time in time out. :( Thanks Tessa & Anthony for coming and I hope we didn't drive you all crazy.

Last Thursday night we went to Firehouse Subs for dinner with Amy & Connnor and then on to see Bob & the gang at Memorial Auditorium. It was so much fun to see the boys have a great time! Thanks to Amy & Connor for making this such a fun evening!!

A couple of weeks ago we spent sometime in Lenoir City while Josh was working at Ft Loudon. We were able to visit with our families and it was a lot of fun. Here is Marley eating good thil, one of my favorites, at my mom's house. Over the next 2 months we will be traveling with Josh a lot to LC as he is working on this big project.
This pic is way too close but I think it is funny!

Jam Packed Few Days

It all started off with us going to Nashville with Josh on Thursday. We ate an all you can eat sushi lunch in "the Gulch" part of Nashville for $9.75/person (our new fave restaurant) and then we took naps, played in the pool, ate at Jonathan's, and then hung out at the manager's reception. Go embassy suites! These are nice 24 vacations for us, just sorry we missed Uncle Truckles this go around.
When we got home on Friday, we discovered that Mr. Sheats (our stone mason) had dropped off his John Deere "bobcat." Ty was VERY excited to say the least and here he is with Hudson. I think Ty is going to have a hard time with it when it has to leave. :(
Friday night, Josh, Ben & Casey took the kids to see a Lookouts game and watch fireworks. It was a lot of fun for all of them, but I think all the kids were VERY tired!
Saturday morning we had a yard sale with neighbors. It was fun to hang out with them, and make a little moola. Here is Laura keeping the kids busy. After the yard sale, Mom and I did a little bit of shopping and then the Beard's came over for dinner. We had a great time and gorged ourselves on their homemade salsa, yummy!
My parents spent the weekend with us and we had a good time visiting with them. In this pic Ty is giving Dad a kiss...can you see his tongue?
We really didn't do much today after church besides take it easy. Here are the kids eating grapes. To see all of our pics click on the May album.

Lap Top or Telephone?

Marley has had her computer out here lately and she uses the mouse as if it is a telephone. She loves phones and pretends that a lot of things are phones. She may be trying to prepare us for countless hours on the phone when she gets older.
