Ty's BIG Race!!

Thursday & Friday we were in Huntsville with Josh and we had a great time. We ate some yummy Cajun & Thai food and played in the pool. Then on our way back we met Amy, Connor & Macy for a Day out with Thomas the Train and then had lunch.

On Saturday afternoon we all headed out to watch Ty's 1st duathlon. He ran, rode his bike and ran some more. It was really cute and he was so excited. When he finished he got a medal and cotton candy. We stuck him on the podium and took his pic, but he didn't win.

Thanks to Amy, Connor & Macy for coming to see Ty run, bike, run.
Here is my family with our race guy. Tracy is 13 wks pregnant and was able to stand out in the heat with us for 2 hrs! Thank you all for coming to see Ty in his 1st race.
Well it is impossible to take a pic of Ty with him actually looking at the camera and not making a face, so here is our Earth day pic. On earth day we went to the Bandy's house and played outside with a bunch of other kids and then planted seeds and ate homemade flower cookies. Ty's shirt says, "Be cute, don't pollute."
This is a new adirondack chair I bought from Andi's yard sale. The kids love it. Also Andi had an extremely successful yard sale...yay!
Here is Marley in a new dress her Aunt Tracy got her...it is TOO cute!! Thanks Tracy for the dress and Ty's Spidey shirt!

Happy Bday Anna Claire & Lillie's Baptism

Saturday after I worked (of course I have to mention that) we went to Anna Claire's 1st birthday party. She looked absolutely adorable in her green bubble outfit and we all had a good time. Here she is in her highchair. I love the way she puts her feet On the bottom of the tray. She is a beautiful little girl!!
During all the festivities, both of my kids managed to get in trouble and here is Marley in time out. The next pic is of them devouring cookie cake, guess that is not a good reward for no so good behaviour.

Sunday we went to LC to visit the fam and help out with yard sale organizing. Thanks Andi, it was a lot of fun! Then that night we went to Sweetwater to watch Ty & Marley's cousin, Lillie, get baptized. It was very special and we are so proud of her!!
I am not sure why, but Ty is very proud of himself for being able to scale the fence and he asked me to take a pic of him, so here it is. He is wearing a hat that we bought from Andi's yard sale (yes she made us buy it, just kidding Andi) and it's been a big hit. Andi is having her yard sale this weekend to raise money for their trip to Ethiopia to adopt their son. They just got their referral this week and we are SO EXCITED for them, he is beautiful!!

When you see the Southern Cross for the 1st time...

Okay this is not the first time we've seen the Southern Cross (aka been to a Buffett concert), but it was just as fun as the first time we went! We went last night with our friends Anthony & Tessa Masters. We started the day off with leaving our kiddos at our house with my in laws (thanks Jess & Bettye for letting us get away and taking such good care of Ty & Marley) and then we drove to ATL to eat lunch with the Masters. We ate at a Mexican restaurant which was good, but we got 2 margaritas, cheese dip, soup, chips & salsa, 2 combo meals, and dessert for $15, plus free refills. We will definitely go back!

Then onto the concert. Long story short, we tailgated, made friends, told stories, ate more and then went into the concert, where we danced our tails off. Buffett put on a great show and I am already looking forward to next year. More pics are in the April album. It's been a lovely cruise! Thanks Gimmy & High Maintenance!!

Raising Money for a Baby

Hey Everyone,

Josh's brother, Sean, and his wife, Andi, are adopting a little boy from Ethopia later this year (actually it could be as soon as 3 months or so) and are raising money for their adoption/travel by holding a yard sale at their house in Lenoir City on April 24 & 25th. I encourage you all to go and buy something and also if you would like to donate any items to their yard sale, please let me know and I will make sure they get it. We all are so excited about our new cousin/nephew and we can't wait to meet him!

Thanks,
Kathy

Easter Weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! We had a good time this past weekend and here are some of our pics. To see them all click on the April link. Friday we dyed eggs, then my parents came to spend the weekend with us. We ate egg rolls, hunted the 50+ easter eggs our neighbors (the Grahams) hid in our play area outside, did a little shopping and went to church to celebrate Jesus resurrection. What a weekend!

Anna Claire went easter egg hunting with the kids at Alexian this year. She had a good time but wasn't too into the egg hunting.
Cranky kids. Here is a picture that does a great job showing their attitudes over these last few days. Isn't there a law saying that both can't be unruly at the same time?!
Here is a pic of my parents on Easter morning.

Ty's 1st Fishing Trip

Today Josh took Ty fishing for the 1st time and he caught 2 fish! It was a beautiful day to go fishing and also so much fun to see him get so excited (well at least when he caught them, the rest of the time he threw rocks, played with sticks, etc.). This will probably be the 1st of many father & son fishing trips.

Ty was off to the races. They opened up to the door for the kids to go out to the Easter egg hunt at his school and he came out running. He is definitely into them this year.

Amazing Love

I'm forgiven, because you were forsaken,
I'm accepted, you were condemned,
I'm alive and well, your spirit is with in me,
because you died and rose again.

Amazing love how can it be that you my King should die for me,
Amazing love I know it's true!!

My prayer this week of Easter is that we all remember Jesus's AMAZING LOVE for us!

S-l-o-w Weekend

We had a nice slow weekend this weekend. Ty has not felt well the last few days and Marley has had a yucky nose, her 1 yr molars are just not starting to come out and she has had some rash on her face. So we decided to just take it easy.

I took these on the hike and I think I am going to frame them and hang them in Ty's room.

Sunday instead of taking our possibly sick kiddos to church we went on a hike to Rainbow Lake. We all had a great time!

Truckload headed to the transfer station. Josh and Ty took it, and while they were there they saw a backhoe fall into a dumpster. The driver was okay, but it probably didn't help that Ty was laughing. He absolutely loved it and has asked to go back to the transfer station several times since then.
Here are just some fun pics we have taken with our new Fujifilm camera, which I am loving!

THANK YOU Jess & Bettye!!!

Yesterday Josh's parents came bright and early and helped us all day with several projects. His dad fixed 2 lamps, then we made our garden, cut down a bunch of brush in our backyard, tore down the deck and planted some flowers. Thank you both for all of your help...we REALLY appreciate it!!
Here is a before shot of our backyard and then one during the plowing and the end result, a 22x22ft garden. We were able to go ahead and plant ruby lettuce, broccoli, red pontaic potatoes & green onions. Stay tuned to see who our garden grows...

With the help of Josh's dad's chainsaw, Josh was able to take down our old deck. We are hoping to replace it sometime with a new patio (stone or pavers).
